Heh, thanks, Lu Meng. Maybe what I needed was just to hear someone say that. Not exactly a lot of adults, let alone guys who are fathers around to ask.

Although, with Elize being a girl... I know how to handle women, but raising one is an entirely different story. [Like, he KNOWS there are things that are gonna happen sooner rather than later but. Well. You know.]

[He maaaaaybe asking this just to tease Alvin a little, but he's also genuinely curious on the state of their young charges romantic lives.

Or he supposed, his ex-young charge. He and Roxas were not on speaking terms anymore after the mess that was Sosyne's attack on the city. But he doesn't bear the teen any ill will, and he still cares for Roxas deeply.]

Maybe "flirting" is different where you're from, but it's actually kind of a normal part of the "courting" aspect.

Unless you're thinking about the way I flirt, and trust me, I don't think Roxas is even close to pull off my levels.

How is flirting normal? Flirting is based on the woman's appearance. Such shallow, hollow compliments are only meant to flatter and lure innocent and naive women to a man's bed. Flirting is meant for flings, affections that last only a fleeting moment before a woman is discarded for another the moment a man gets bored.

Courting is far more serious. It signifies intent to pursue the relationship to its fullest, that both parties truly wish to learn and to grow and to be with each other for all their days.

Okay, you're not wrong, but you're also kind of dated there, Lu Meng. Even when you're serious about someone, you'll flirt. Send them a few compliments, get their attention. But the point of it is to make the other person feel good.

Nope, got it backwards. First you flirt a little to see if they're actually interested, then you "court." You see, flirting is to just test the waters, see if you're both even attracted or compatible with one another. If you are, then you can start going serious. If you try to go serious first, you'll just put her off.

No, first you have to get to truly know a person. Not just the positive traits either; you have to know their flaws and their weaknesses. It's only when you've seen a person at their worst, that you'll know if you can live with and love them for the rest of your lives.
