[His eyes glance down to the box in her hands, and then back up to her face again, a small light of surprise in them. But that quickly disappears into a smile, one that looks almost shy!]
Thank you. You really shouldn't have, there's no occasion for it...but thank you. I'll cherish it.
[There's a slight problem though when he raises his hands to receive the precious gift; they're covered in bits of paint and plaster and dust. He frowns and quickly draws them back.]
It won't do to get it dirty. I'm going to head in and wash up a bit. [And then a thought occurs to him; why not show her around the inside? It smells of paint and the floor's covered in newspaper, but they finished the ceiling last week and it's just the cleaning up that's left.]
Would you like to take a look inside? We haven't cleared away the newspapers, and the paint on the walls are still a little wet, but I can show you the rooms we have inside.
Oh, no, there is an occasion for it! [ And she'll follow him inside as she explains, looking at the center beginning to come together. They really built this quickly! ] It's White Day. You see, in my world-- and specifically in my country, Valentine's day is a day you give chocolates to others. Traditionally from a girl to a boy. [ So romantic connotations.] And the boy might get many chocolates from many girls. So on White Day, the boy returns chocolates back to one of the girls he likes best!
[ And then she realizes that this can be misinterpreted at her doing this ~romantically~ for him.
Which is true, she is only doing this for him.
But it's not supposed to be romantic. Quickly, she stammers: ] Er, that is to say it's sort of flip-flopped because you're the boy and I'm the girl, and I'm the one giving the White Day chocolates. [ Rambling, and the more she talks the faster it goes. Eventually she takes a breath, getting a grip on her self and looking up at him. ] I mean-- these are for you to enjoy! As thanks!
[ ...Why is she suddenly flustered? Why is her heart fluttering? Those chocolates Alice gave her certainly messed up her perspective on things with Lu Meng. ]
